The Tunnel producers Julian Harvey and Enzo Tedeschi.
The Tunnel producers Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey are continuing their assault on online filmmaking with their webseries, Event Zero, set to premiere on YouTube.
The Aussie pair were awarded $100,000 to make the seven-part webseries, after the idea won the Movie Extra Webfest 2.0 competition.
It tells seven interconnected stories of people in Sydney who become caught up in a disaster much worse than they thought.
The first episode premieres on May 22 on Movie Extra's YouTube Channel and revolves around a train derailment in the city. When emergency workers arrive at the wreckage, they realise it's the least of their problems, as people without a scratch begin dying.
As the death toll begins to climb, they realise whatever this is, it's spreading.
The following six episodes will released from June 11.
The webseries stars Australian actors including Zoe Carides (Crownies, Out of the Blue), Valentino Del Toro (Gabriel, Underbelly: Infiltration), Harry Pavlidis (Gabriel, East West 101, All Saints) and Steve Davis (The Tunnel).
Episodes have been directed by the likes of Carlo Ledesma (The Tunnel), Andrew Traucki (The Reef) and Shane Abbess (Gabriel).
Tedeschi and Harvey were awarded the cash funding by Movie Network Channels and Screen Australia.
