Ed Sheeran: If you could hear anything through the screams of 2000 over-excited teenage girls, you would have heard 21-year-old singer Ed Sheeran busily using his voice, a guitar, two microphones and a loop pedal to create complex and interesting acoustic folk pop at the Enmore Theatre. Known for making cheesy, acoustic love songs for the Bieber generation, the British heartthrob had the crowd of (mostly) young women shouting every word to hits such as The A Team and Drunk. He had to beg them to be silent so he could deliver a stirring rendition of the old American folk song Wayfaring Stranger, which featured Bon Iver-style layered harmonies.
