Bringing Rutherglen to the ACT

June 20, 2012

FOR Phil Chamberlain, the Taste of Two Regions event offers him the chance to offer his products to a ''knowledgeable'' Canberra market.

As chief executive of Rutherglen Estates, Chamberlain has been at the forefront of the growth in the region's wine industry for more than a decade and he sees the Taste of Two Regions event as a proven way of tapping into the Canberran market.

''I think it is a great event, Canberra is a really good market for Rutherglen and the north east Victoria area,'' he said.

''Canberra has a very good wine knowledge, people are knowledgeable about wine and they have often got cash to spend on quality product.

''We like to be able to take all of our stories to Canberra for this event, it's a great showcase of what a fantastic region we have here in Rutherglen.''

Rutherglen Estates wines are produced entirely from fruit grown on its own vineyards near Rutherglen. As the largest grower in the region, with vines planted on five estates, its winemakers are able to select the best fruit for Rutherglen Estates wines.

A wide selection of Rutherglen Estates products, including its zinfandel and muscats, will be available to taste and buy at the Taste of Two Regions.
