Cate Blanchett says her products have to work hard because of all the "abuse" her skin gets.
"I feel like my skin has looked its best in the past 10 years in terms of stability and how even it is, purely because I have maintained a good regime with amazing products," the 43-year-old mother of three told the latest edition of UK magazine InStyle.
"And they have to work hard with all the abuse it gets, what with lack of sleep, my children and a busy schedule."
Blanchett is particular about what she puts on her face. She uses a suncream with an SPF of 30 and also opts for foundations which have "skincare benefits". This is because she is meticulous about cleansing, toning and moisturising her face and doesn't want to clog up her pores.
"People always ask me who my beauty icon is," she added, "And it's Tom Ford! He always looks superb and his make-up range is to die for."
