Independent senator Nick Xenophon has accused the federal government of dirty tricks in assessing the merits of introducing a $1 maximum bet cap for poker machines.
He made a freedom of information request for documents relating to the cost of limiting poker machine losses to $120 per hour, from $1200.
In response to his request, Senator Xenophon said he received 34 pages of documents with huge slabs of information blacked out.
''What has the government got to hide?'' he said yesterday. AAP
